Johannes Kammler is one of the most promising German baritones of his generation.
He is in demand internationally for renowned addresses and is equally committed to opera, song and concerts. For September 2018 he is invited by Rolando Villazón and ZDF / ARTE to take part in the TV show "STARS OF TOMORROW" in Berlin.

In August 2018, Johannes has made his successful debut at the Salzburg Festival with the opera DER PROZESS by Gottfried von Einem (Conductor HK Gruber).

From the season 2018/2019, Johannes will be a member of the ensemble of the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where he will be performing Malatesta / DON PASQUALE, Guglielmo / COSI FAN TUTTE or Marcello / LA BOHEME for example. In February 2019 he will also make his house debut as Guglielmo in a new production of Mozart's COSI at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto. Just previously, Johannes Kammler will be singing a New Year's Eve Gala with various opera arias as part of the BRAVISSIMO concerts in Roy Thomson Hall. In addition, there are numerous concert engagements for Johannes in Europe: e.g. MESSIAH, ELIAS, Donizetti's REQUIEM, THE SEASONS, ST. MATTHEW`S PASSION or Brahm`s REQUIEM with the SWR radio for example.

In August 2015 Johannes debuted at the Verbier Festival as Marcello in Puccini's LA BOHEME. In the summer of 2016 his first engagement at Den Norske Opera in Oslo followed for a scenic production (Calixto Bieito) of Britten's WAR REQUIEM.

In the seasons 15/16 & 16/17 Johannes Kammler was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera and was subsequently taken over in the Ensemble of Munich.
With roles like 
Ruggiero in Halévy's LA JUIVE, John Sorel in Menotti's THE CONSUL, orScherasmin in Weber's OBERON the charismatic baritone received excellent reviews.

So far Johannes has worked with many famous conductors, such as Kirill Petrenko, Bertrand de Billy, Oksana Lyniv, Andrea Battistoni, Asher Fish, Marco Armiliato, Constantin Trinks, Ivor Bolton or Simone Young.

In the summer of 2017 he made his role debut as Belcore in Donizetti's L`ELISIR D`AMORE at the New Generation Festival in Florence.

Next to the opera, Johannes Kammler is equally convincing as a concert soloist, e.g. with Haydn's CREATION under Gustavo Dudamel in the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as under Thomas Hengelbrock with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra as part of the opening of the new Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg for example.

Previously, he has sung with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Mark Elder and Marin Alsop in London, Berlin, Hamburg, Baden-Baden, Porto, Moscow, Caracas and Los Angeles.

On top as a lied singer Johannes Kammler is very active and successful. For example, in October 2016 he was invited by the renowned Oxford Song Festival for a recital together with Roger Vignoles, with whom he has since been engaged throughout Europe and repeatedly for joint recitals; e.g. at Wigmore Hall, De Doelen, Schloss Elmau, Beethoven festival in Bonn, etc.

Born in Augsburg, Johannes received his first musical education at the Augsburger Domsingknaben. Later he studied singing u. a. in Freiburg im Breisgau, Toronto and at the Guildhall in London. In October 2017, he was awarded the 2nd place at the prestigious singing contest NEUE STIMMEN.
